    The mud-bar is an outdoor play station where kids can really use their imagination and utilize a lot of the things they find outdoors to make mud-pies and flower casseroles. This is a great project to utilize reclaimed wood and lumber you may have lying around. We are building ours from reclaimed decking boards most decking boards are 5 1/2” wide. (Keep in mind to check for lead paint, old hardware and nails and screws should be removed).

    Supplies:

  • Reclaimed Deck Boards cut to various sizes:
  • Four pieces cut to 2 3/4” by 24-inches long
  • Four pieces cut to 2 3/4” wide x 57” long
  • Four pieces cut to 2 3/4” wide x 16-1/2 ” long
  • Two pieces cut to 2 3/4” x 28” long
  • Four pieces cut to 5 1/2” x 71" long
  • Seven pieces cut to 5 1/2” x 71" long
  • Four pieces cut to 2 3/4” x 16-1/2” long
  • 3/16” drill bit
  • 5/8” decking screws
  • Three various styled bowls with lips
  • Artist Compass
  • 1/2-inch spade bit
  • Jigsaw or Handsaw
  • Assortment of old hooks, kitchen utensils, baking pans etc...
