Step 3: Add Water
Cover with a quart of cold water. Break up the berries and slightly crush between your hands to help extract the flavor. Let soak for about half an hour. Strain using a mesh sieve and cheesecloth. If it needs further straining, you can also use a paper coffee filter. To make a hot tea out of the berries, soak clusters in hot water. (do not boil the berries or your drink will be bitter) Soak for 5-10 minutes.
