Place a 6 inch wide ruler on the sweater and use that as your template for the width of the scarf. (You can place it on the width or the length of the sweater it doesn’t matter.) Cut out as many strips as you need for the length of the scarf you want.
Step 2: Stitch
Stitch all the pieces together with the seam exposed because you will see the front and the back of the sweater as you wrap it around you. You can create a traditional scarf or stitch the ends together to create an endless scarf.
Step 3: Serge
Serge the edges to finish off, or you could use a decorative hand-stitch.
