We all have something in our garden that we want more than anything to grow and produce.
Mine: the concord grape vines.
And, they REFUSE to cooperate.
All three of them.
Granted, they’re young – (3 yrs)
(And they’ve been given lots of love, for the most part — I’m admittedly a fearful pruner)
This year looked to be the year…I was so hopeful…the vines were lush and healthy…an abundance of beautiful clusters of berries had set.
I was SOOOOOOO excited.
Then, sometime between sundown and sunrise…..
They turned on me.

She’s a determined little thing. (my daughter)
And she refuses to just give up and let any plant that has an ounce of ‘green hope’, die.
From thinning the seedlings…..
We had to create a rescue unit for the spindly things I was just going to ‘toss’.
These were now Madeline’s responsibility to water and care for.
And I’ll be darned…she didn’t lose one of them.

One (of the many) things I LOVE about my husband is that he can build anything and he’s what you would call ‘fast-acting’…….even if it’s just something you mention in passing….like one of those, “Gee, wouldn’t it be nice if” or “what if”….kind of things…(not gonna lie…I do play that card once in a while.**wink)
If it’s an idea that intrigues/excites him or he’s ‘in the mood’ or he’s looking for a mindless stress buster…..he’ll disappear, and the next thing you know he’s back with a prototype or something.
