We all have something in our garden that we want more than anything to grow and produce.
Mine: the concord grape vines.
And, they REFUSE to cooperate.
All three of them.
Granted, they’re young – (3 yrs)
(And they’ve been given lots of love, for the most part — I’m admittedly a fearful pruner)
This year looked to be the year…I was so hopeful…the vines were lush and healthy…an abundance of beautiful clusters of berries had set.
I was SOOOOOOO excited.
Then, sometime between sundown and sunrise…..
They turned on me.

These were now Madeline’s responsibility to water and care for.
And I’ll be darned…she didn’t lose one of them.

If it’s an idea that intrigues/excites him or he’s ‘in the mood’ or he’s looking for a mindless stress buster…..he’ll disappear, and the next thing you know he’s back with a prototype or something. Read the rest of this entry →

And they were one of her favorites….
She’s now excited to be growing her own. Read the rest of this entry →

Like a lot of you, we’ve been in serious gardening mode the past few weeks, and it’s been DELIGHTFUL. Lots of digging, planting and an intense observation of growth (in more ways than one). We ended up expanding our efforts into three other areas of the yard this year.
